Screen Printing at Home

Joe is out of the country for a wedding, but as soon as he gets back we should be finishing the Screen Printing walk-through we've been working on. Basically, it is designed to help someone who doesn't know how to screen print make T-shirts at home. It includes plans for building your own press, burning your screens in the sun, a trouble-shooting chart to help with screen exposure problems, and how to reclaim your screens as well.

Creating a Brand

We do more than custom screen printing at Red Alert Screen Printing. We've created an online retail site named Ziraxia. The purpose of Ziraxia.com is to offer a preprint line of T-shirts. My basic idea is that in keeping with our core products, there are still many ways that we can sell what we do. Here's the generals about Ziraxia:

1)We license designs from our members and sell them in our online store, and then we pay royalties to the artists.
2) We have a science fiction theme, centering around MIB / Star Trek style aliens and situations.

We are working on a web comic and doing some videos to help the public get to know our fictitious cast. Here's one below:

Reflective Screen Printing

This is a side by side comparison of white ink and reflective printing on garments. The reflective product uses a glass microprism on a carrier sheet as part of the process. The carrier sheet allows the microprisms to line up just right so it's almost like covering your shirt in tiny mirrors.

Learn Screen Printing

The guys and I are creating a new series of videos all about screen printing. We are titling the series How to Quit Pulling Your Hair Out and Finally Learn Screen Printing. That's a pretty long title, but I don't think people will forget it. If we just titled it Learn silkscreening or some other such thing, it would be hard to tell it from all the really junky tutorials blasted all over YouTube.

Anyway, we already started filming and I'm having a blast. If you want to find out more about the tutorials we are working on go to www.redalertscreenprinting.com/howto
